Perfect Grinder For Your Marijuana Vaporizers!

While most of my posts are vaporizer reviews, from time to time I like to review vaporizer related items. Today I’m going to talk about one of my favorite vaporizer tool. If you are going to use a vaporizer, you need a grinder. Resist the temptation to buy a $5 wooden grinder. You bought yourself a baller vaporizer, now get the one required tool. So what is the best grinder and why are they important? This is a short Space Case Grinder Review, including how useful they are, and which ones are best. Vaporizers can be put on hold for a minute because this is important. The bottom line is that any vaporizer, even cheap vaporizers, should have a companion grinder nearby. While there aren’t as many grinder companies as there are vaporizer companies, there are still multiple options.

That being said, in our opinion there is one clear winner when it comes to design, quality, function, and looks. In our opinion, (and the opinion of many others) the best herb grinders are made by Space Case. We have multiple grinders from this company and have been nothing but pleased with their products. Now many people will ask why they can’t just buy a $5 wooden grinder. Well, technically you can. There is nothing stopping you. But you will regret it down the line, just like I did.

Before I became a vaporizer enthusiast, I got tired of breaking up my herb with my hands. Depending on what type of herbs you vaporize, they might be sticky which is annoying when breaking up. It gets all over your fingers which you then need to clean, when you want this stickiness to stay on your herb. You are also in the process wasting herb. So I said ok, I’ll buy a $5 grinder. Why spend $50 when I can get one for $5? Well, for a few days it worked. Then I saw why it was so cheap. After three days of heavy use, the wooden grinder started getting sticky and wouldn’t even turn anymore. I tried cleaning it with alcohol but that just fixed the problem temporarily. The bud wasn’t being broken up correctly, it was getting stuck in the grinder, and overall it was just a mess. So I threw that one out, and decided to buy a real Space Case. And man was I blown away. First, Space Case makes their grinders out of machined aerospace aluminum. This is very high quality stuff. I have dropped my grinder many times on my stone floor and it has never even gotten a dent on it. Secondly, unlike the wooden grinders which have mini nails to breakup the herb, the Space Case has diamond shaped cutters which do not dull or get stuck.

Pick any vaporizer review I’ve done and you will see that in at least half I talk about how important it is to break up herb properly Also, the lid is magnetized which is very cool. It keeps the lid down while you are grinding which helps more then you would think. You will see in the picture above that there is a screen at the bottom of the 4 piece grinder. This is nicknamed the “kief catcher” and serves a very nice conservation purpose. By using a Space Case, you break up the herb much more efficiently but no matter how good the grinder is, there will always be tiny amounts of herb that would normally get wasted. With the kief catcher, these tiny but potent particles get collected at the bottom and you are able to use the provided scrapper to gather it. The main reason for a grinder is conservation and efficiency. If you take herb and just shove it in your vaporizer or pipe, you are not being smart. For one the herb won’t get heated properly, the Vaporizer can clog, and you are literally wasting herb.

The main Space Case Herb Grinder that I have is over 1 year old and is used daily and the grinder still looks brand new and functions like I bought it yesterday. I have cleaned it ONCE with alcohol and that is it in terms of upkeep. Space Case Herb Grinders cost anywhere from $22-$100 depending on the unit you get. The price varies by size, and whether it includes a kief catcher or not (I strongly suggest you get the model that has one). Overall, the Space Case Herb Grinder gets a very solid two thumbs up from us. We would always default to Space Case for grinders, but we will of course let you know if anything new and crazy come out. These units are slick, good looking, efficient, and necessary if you want to conserve your herb and use it properly with your vaporizer. Because the quality on these are so amazing, and the face that they offer smaller versions that cost less, there is really no excuse not to own one of these. Any vaporizer reviews site mentions these at some point. Even if you still smoke via combustion, you would still have use for the grinder.
